Article 7 Sports-Related Concussion/mTBI in Adolescents: Structural Brain Changes May Predict Clinical Status

      To examine the association between changes in white matter integrity using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) with the Sport Concussion Assessment Tool 2 (SCAT2). Concussion is a major public health issue yet the impact of concussion on the adolescent brain is largely unknown. Current neuropsychological, behavioral and standard neuroimaging tools are not sensitive to detect changes in brain structure and function, making an initial diagnosis of concussion and evaluating functional recovery difficult.
