Instructions for AAPM&R Self-Assessment Examinations
Article Outline
An examination component of the 2008 Study Guide enables you to assess your need for continuing medical education (CME) in the topics presented: the Self-Assessment Examination for Practitioners (SAE-P). An SAE-P with an accompanying answer key for each Study Guide chapter and Focused Review article is contained in this issue. Completion of both Study Guide topics earns a maximum of 30 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.™ Credit may be obtained until March 31, 2011.
The AAPM&R has designated each set of Study Guide articles and its corresponding SAE-P for a maximum of 15 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.™ Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
New for 2008: complete the SAE-Ps online and receive instant CME credit! The Academy is proud to announce that the SAE-Ps are now available online through Academeē, a new educational resource. Each SAE-P includes immediate remediation, complete with commentary and references, as well as instant access to claim CME credit and print certificates. Log on to me.aapmr.org to access this new resource. Or, you can continue to claim credit for these activities by filling out the relevant program evaluation(s) and CME application enclosed in the back of this issue. Your participation will be documented to the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). These activities are an acceptable form of self-assessment, Part II, required for American Board of Medical Specialties Maintenance of Certification™ by the ABPMR. The Study Guide and the Self-Assessment Examination Committees welcome your evaluation of these materials. Each year members who have evaluated these materials have contributed to the ongoing improvement of the Self-Directed Physiatric Education Program.
Thank you for your cooperation and participation.
